Brush Strokes on Steroids
Kevork Kassabian’s latest body of work gives new meaning to the phrase “life is not black and white; it is a huge splash of color. He reveals a totally new concept. In his words, “they are made by special mix of polymers which takes 7 minutes, a meditative act between me and the polymer. ”These oversized brush strokes and the movement of vibrant colors are loaded with a deep feeling and emotional reaction. It is an exploration of glide and slide. It is a current of color mass in motion, a new scope in proportion and scale. These are misleading structures which lure the viewer to observe intensely, tempting us with their process, yet the fluid sweeps made without any conscious decision, light as water but charged, produces a sudden sense of energy.
